Deal of the Day: Lease a Volkswagen Taigo from £235 per month
The Volkswagen Taigo is a sleek-looking and practical small SUV, and you could save a packet on one with our leasing deals...

If you like the idea of owning an SUV but want something that is slightly sleeker and lower-slung, then the Volkswagen Taigo might be the car for you. It hits the sweet spot between the VW Polo small car and boxy VW T-Cross small SUV, without scrimping on style or practicality.
You can also put one on your driveway for a keen price thanks to our deals. Indeed, you could lease a Taigo from just £235 per month when you opt for a 36-month contract with an annual mileage limit of 5000 miles, and an initial payment of £2809.80. The annual 5000 mile restriction isn’t a huge allowance, so you’ll have to be careful to avoid excess mileage charges.
If you regularly cover more miles, you could opt for a more common 36-month, 10,000-mile agreement with six months initial rental (£1794.66), which will cost £299.11 per month.

The Taigo comes with a choice of three different petrol engines: either a 94bhp 1.0-litre unit, a 113bhp 1.0-litre unit or a 148bhp 1.5-litre unit. Our Deal of the Day comes equipped with the most potent option, which manages to sprint from 0-62mph 8.2sec – quicker than the sprightly Ford Puma Ecoboost mHEV 155. It comes matched with a seven-speed automatic gearbox.
Despite its large 18in wheels, the Taigo is smooth across potholes and bumpy roads, and it’s comfier than its T-Cross sibling. It’s not bad to drive, either – while its light steering doesn’t inspire as much confidence or entertainment on the open road as a Puma, the Taigo remains a pleasure to drive around town or on your morning commute.

It’s not hard to get comfortable in the Taigo, since all trim levels come with plenty of driver’s seat and steering wheel adjustment. If you’re a fan of lower-riding SUVs, then the Taigo should appease.
Inside, there’s a responsive 8.0in infotainment touchscreen that comes equipped with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity, DAB radio and Bluetooth. Our Deal of the Day is kitted out in Black Edition trim, with which comes with a built-in sat-nav. It also gets black 18in wheels, black mirror caps, black roof rails and heated seats.
Given its coupé SUV styling, you might assume that the Taigo struggles when it comes to rear space – but that’s not the case. Even the tallest of passengers will be able to get comfortable in both the front and back, and leg room is generous too.
The Taigo gets 440 litres of boot space, which translates to space for six carry-on suitcases. That’s more than what we managed to squeeze into a Seat Arona or Toyota Yaris Cross.
