Hyundai Hexa Space concept car unveiled

The Hyundai Hexa Space MPV concept car has been revealed.
The Hexa Space, which debuted at the Auto Expo 2012 in New Delhi, shares its platform with the ix20, and has been designed for young, urban families living in emerging, demanding lifestyles.
Hyundai says the new concept revolutionises the use of interior space, with tessellating hexagonally-shaped seats to maximise internal space and minimise vehicle width.
The middle row of Its eight seats can be configured to fold flat, to create a limousine function; while the third row can also be folded to carry bulky cargo.
The centre seats can also be individually folded, providing more interior space. The Hexa Spaces interior has high-tech features including a touch-screen centre console and push-button gear selector.
The Hexa Space is powered by a 1.2-litre turbo petrol engine, coupled with a six-speed automatic gearbox. Its narrow width is designed to ease maneuverability in towns and cities, while the rear doors lift out and slide backward on both sides for easy access.
A production version of the Hexa Space isnt likely, but its design could give a clue to how the Hyundais new i30-based MPV will look when it goes on sale in winter 2012.
