Jeep Avenger Electric prices slashed by £3750 with new EV discount
Jeep has introduced a discount of £3750 on its Jeep Avenger Electric model in response to the Government’s Electric Car Grant (ECG).
Dubbed the Jeep EV grant, it will be available across all versions of the Avenger Electric until 30 September.
This means that prices for the Avenger Electric will now start at £26,249 in entry-level Longitude trim, and will top out at £30,249 in top-spec Summit trim.
Jeep has also committed to a £1500 deposit contribution when you finance an Avenger Electric through a 0% APR PCP contract, which requires a 20% down payment. This brings the price to £270 per month.
This discount comes as a response to the Electric Car Grant announced in July, for which Avenger Electric has not yet qualified. The Government has announced over recent weeks that several models from 12 carmakers are eligible for either the band one £3750 discount or band two £1500 discount on their electric cars priced below £37,000 – though Jeep is not one of them.
Instead, Jeep joins a number of other manufacturers, including fellow Stellantis-owned brands Alfa Romeo, Fiat and Leapmotor, who have introduced their own discounts to private customers who buy their electric models.
Jeep has equalled the top-end Government grant by discounting its Avenger Electric by £3750. So far, only two models have qualified for the full £3750 Government grant: the Ford Puma Gen-E SUV and Ford E-Tourneo Courier MPV. All other eligible vehicles have received the lower £1500 discount.
According to the Government, eligibility for the ECG depends on the car’s sustainability credentials. The manufacturer must be signed up to the Science Based Targets initiative and the CO2 emissions during production of the vehicle and its battery must be below specified thresholds.
