Learning curve

There's a huge difference between difficulty depending on the levels you set the various driving aids to in GT5. Select maximum levels of traction and stability controls, anti-lock brakes and the racing line that can be painted onto the track, and GT5 is easy for all.

Dial them back to the bone and it's much trickier, although mistakes aren't punished hard enough and it's too easy to overcome setbacks and go on to win races.

As with previous versions of the game, you could find yourself having to self-censor your tactics to take part in an honest, realistic race the unrealistic ability to smash into barriers or rivals to make up lost ground is still present.
