The makeover includes a new-look front end, with fresh headlights, bumper, bonnet and grille. There are new wheel designs, too, and top-of-the-range models have new side bars and steps.

Inside, theres a new dashboard design and horizontal instrument cluster. Fresh materials, including darker plastics and chrome surrounds for the instruments on top-spec models, are aimed at giving a classier ambience.

Toyotas Touch multimedia unit which incorporates a full-colour touch-screen, Bluetooth and a USB port is fitted to all but entry-level double cab models.

As before, there are 2.5- and 3.0-litre D-4D diesel engines. Thanks to the addition of a diesel particulate filter and efficiency improvements, all now comply with Euro V emissions standards. Fuel consumption and CO2 emissions are more than 10% better, too.

Prices for double cab models start at 17,790 for the 2.5 HL2 4WD and rise to 21,490 for the 3.0 Invincible 4WD automatic. The updated Hilux goes on sale in October.
