Our verdict
If one of these cars catches your eye in particular, even if it’s not the one we’re about to recommend, there’s no doubt you’ll have bought a smashing small SUV. But if you’re happy to let your head rule your heart, we’d point you in the direction of the T-Roc first.
Yes, the T-Cross will be a little cheaper to run and its sliding rear bench gives more flexibility with space, but the T-Roc trumps those things with its larger boot, more generous standard equipment list, cushier ride and brisker acceleration – and all for an acceptable additional cost.
