Used Peugeot 308 reliability: the owners' view
In our latest Reliability Survey, Peugeot 308 owners reported a mixed experience with reliability, with concerns raised about both the cars themselves and the service received from dealerships.
One owner reported persistent issues with the infotainment system, which failed repeatedly and required multiple visits to the dealer to rectify. Another highlighted warning lights appearing without clear faults, creating frustration and a lack of confidence in the car’s electronics. Diesel owners also mentioned a fault related to the particulate filter, with repairs proving costly once out of warranty.
Dealer service came in for criticism, with some owners saying repairs took several weeks due to delays in sourcing parts. Communication from dealerships was also described as poor in a few cases, particularly when issues were recurring.
Overall, while not universally unreliable, owners experienced notable problems with both the cars and dealer support.
