2019 Peugeot 208

The second-generation Peugeot 208 is truly a car of the moment, not only thanks to its striking, sporty design, but also because it will be offered from launch with petrol, diesel and electric power.

The all-new-for-2019 rival to the Volkswagen Polo also features Peugeot's What Car? Award-winning i-Cockpit interior design, with its tiny steering wheel, large infotainment touchscreen (7.0in or 10.in) and digital instrument display. Peugeot promises plush materials, too, including a standard padded dashboard and a carbonfibre-effect centre console.

Built on a new, significantly lighter platform, the next 208 should handle and ride significantly better than its predecessor. It's powered by Peugeot's excellent 74bhp, 99bhp and 148bhp Puretech turbocharged petrol engines, or by a 99bhp BlueHDi diesel.

The electric e-208 version, meanwhile, will rival the Renault Zoe. It promises a 211-mile official range from its 50kWh battery and the ability to rapid-charge to 80% in just half an hour.

If you're interested in the new 208, which will land in showrooms at the end of the year, come along for an exclusive preview with What Car? on Thursday 16 May in Crawley, West Sussex.

You'll get a hands-on preview of the car, as well as a Q&A opportunity with the Peugeot team, before being interviewed for our magazine and website.
