Deal of the Day: Lease a Peugeot 208 from £158 per month
The Peugeot 208 is a comfortable and stylish small car, and you could lease one for a keen price with our deals...

If you want a new small car that’ll stand out on the road, then look no further than the Peugeot 208. Indeed, this French brand is known for its stylish models, but the 208 doesn’t just have good looks outside, it’s also smart inside and very comfortable to drive.
In fact, we’d argue that the 208 is one of the best small cars you can buy, beating plenty of combustion and electric competitors. So, if that all sounds good to you, you might be pleased to know that you could put a new one on your driveway for as little as £158 per month.
To do that, you’ll need to opt for a 24-month contract with an annual mileage limit of 5000 miles, and an initial payment of £1890.36. The annual 5000 mile restriction isn’t a huge allowance, so you’ll have to be careful to avoid excess mileage charges.
If you regularly cover more miles, you could opt for a more common 36-month, 10,000-mile agreement with six months initial rental (£1285.81), which will cost £214.30 per month.

You can have either petrol or hybrid power with your 208, but our Deal of the Day comes with our preferred 99bhp 1.2-litre PureTech 100 petrol engine. While that power might sound modest, it packs a surprisingly big punch; it pulls keenly from low revs and feels potent along faster roads. It feels even livelier than equivalent versions of the Renault Clio or Volkswagen Polo.
Where the 208 really stands out is with its comfortable ride. It feels more supple than a premium-badged Audi A1, with its smoothness across all roads, even at higher speeds. This is thanks to its soft suspension, though this does mean the 208 is not particularly sporty. There’s a fair bit of body lean through corners; the A1 and Clio feel more assured.

Inside, our Deal of the Day has a set of analogue dials flanking a small digital screen, acting as a driver’s display. You’re meant to look at this over the steering wheel, but it can be difficult depending on your driving position.
Elsewhere, there’s a 10in infotainment touchscreen with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay as standard, as well as a built-in sat-nav and USB-C charging ports.
In terms of quality, the 208 is up there with the best. It features a striking design with high-end materials and soft-touch surfaces that make it feel as upmarket as some much pricier models.
Although it’s a small car, the 208 has ample head and leg room for tall passengers in the front. In the back, there’s good enough space, though the rear doors don’t open particularly wide. With 309 litres of boot space, the 208 is decently practical for its class – we managed to fit five carry-on suitcases below the parcel shelf.
Our Deal of the Day comes in entry-level Style trim, which includes heated wing mirrors, automatic lights, air conditioning and a leather steering wheel. It does come with wheel trims rather than alloys, though.
