Deal of the Day: Lease a Peugeot 208 from £177 per month
The Peugeot 208 is a stylish and comfortable small car, and you could lease one for a keen price with our deals...

The French are famous for many things: bread, fashion, wine – and also stylish small cars. The Peugeot 208 is no exception; it blends comfort with a high-end interior and pleasant driving experience.
Indeed, if you’re in the market for a new small car, you shouldn’t overlook the 208, especially when you take into account the fact that you could put a new one on your driveway for as little as £177 per month.
To do that, you’ll need to opt for a 24-month contract with an annual mileage limit of 6000 miles, and an initial payment of £2123.04. The annual 6000 mile restriction isn’t a huge allowance, so you’ll have to be careful to avoid excess mileage charges.
If you regularly cover more miles, you could opt for a more common 36-month, 10,000-mile agreement with six months initial rental (£1380.42), which will cost £230.07 per month.
There’s a version of the 208 for everyone, thanks to its range of petrol, mild hybrid and all-electric power (in the form of the e-208). However, our Deal of the Day comes with our favourite entry-level 1.2-litre petrol engine, which pumps out 99bhp. While that figure might seem pedestrian on paper, it’s actually a relatively strong engine that pulls nicely from low revs and can get you up to motorway speeds without fuss.
Where the 208 really stands out is with its comfortable ride – indeed, it’s even smoother than the more expensive Audi A1 or hugely popular Volkswagen Polo. It feels just as supple at high motorway speeds as some larger cars and, while its suspension is quite soft, it doesn’t feel too bouncy on undulating roads.

That being said, if you’re looking for something that feels a bit sportier and more agile, you might be better off with an Audi A1 or Renault Clio.
Inside, you’ll find a 10in infotainment touchscreen alongside Peugeot’s iCockpit digital instrument display, which sits just behind the wheel. It’s positioned slightly higher so that you can view it by looking over the steering wheel, which is fine if you’re taller or sit close to the wheel, but some might find it a bit tricky to see.
While we find the infotainment system to be a bit clunky, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay come as standard, so you can use your own familiar apps instead.
Interior quality is a real highlight – the 208 is even more striking than the premium Audi A1, thanks to its use of high-end materials and soft-touch surfaces that make it feel really upmarket.
Despite being a small car, the 208’s 309 litres of boot space is decent for its size. We managed to fit five carry-on suitcases below the parcel shelf.
Our Deal of the Day comes kitted out in mid-spec Allure trim, which we think comes with everything you need. It includes dual-zone climate control, privacy glass, automatic wipers, power-folding and heated door mirrors and extra parking aids on top of the standard 16in alloy wheels, automatic lights and leather steering wheel.
