The Volkswagen Passat CC has been upgraded to accommodate five people, and also gets more equipment as standard.

More seats
Five people can now travel in the VW, thanks to a middle rear seat.

Room is limited, though, and the extra seat is likely to be most suitable for children, especially on longer journeys.

Extra equipment
Up front, the Passat CC now gets touch-screen satellite-navigation and Bluetooth device as standard.

The GT model also gets cruise control, front and rear parking sensors, and a leather interior.

Engine range is unchanged
The CC's engines remain unchanged, with 1.8-litre TSI, 2.0-litre TSI and 3.6-litre V6 petrol engines, and a 2.0-litre TDI diesel.

Upgrades to the entry-level model represent an extra 1000 worth of equipment, but prices rise by just 515 to 22,645.

The GT model gets an extra 3000 worth of kit, but with prices from 25,162, this is a rise of 1000 only.
