The Range Rover reclaimed its place as king of the plush 4x4s with the arrival of the all new model in late 2012.
WIth huge improvements in performance, ride and handling, weight, economy and finish, it is a formidable bit of engineering, standing comparison with traditional luxury cars, as well as rival SUVs. It was an obvious choice for our Luxury Car of the Year 2013.
Choosing which Range Rover to go for is simple enough. There are just three engines and three trim levels, so the trickiest decision is likely to be what colour to opt for.
We've tested the V6 diesel, which is our favourite engine. It offers strong enough performance with acceptable fuel economy. All models are well-equipped so there is little need to climb the specification ladder too far to get a supremely comfortable car. Alloy wheels, Bluetooth, sat-nav, DAB radio, cruise control, climate control and heated leather seats are standard so few comforts are absent.
