2017 Audi Q7 e-tron review - verdict
The addition of an electric motor and battery pack make for impressive numbers...
While the regular Q7 is a What Car? award winner, we find it hard to recommend the e-tron as the pick of the range. We can certainly see the appeal of cheap company car tax, strong performance and the benefits of electric-only running, but these come at a price.
At just over £67,000 on the road, it costs around £10,000 more than a conventionally powered Q7, yet it isn’t as practical and offers no better economy once the battery is depleted. If you can make use of the savings in company car tax and mainly do short journeys to maximise the electric-only range, then fine. Otherwise we’d stick to the regular 3.0 TDI 272.
