BMW 7 Series and Mercedes S-Class

Our verdict

Choose either of these luxury limousines – to drive or be driven in – and you’ll be far from disappointed. However, with its fractionally better ride and refinement, its more remarkable interior and more fluid, organic handling, the Mercedes S-Class wins the day. The new BMW 7 Series is better than it has ever been and actually beats the S-Class in some areas. As an all-rounder, though, it just falls short. The S-Class remains the best of its breed.
