Dodgy mechanics, beware: a new code of practice means motorists can now choose a garage they can trust

advertisment

Motorists hate getting their cars serviced or repaired. Why? Well, aside from the expense, most people simply dont trust the garages that are doing the work.

This is understandable. After all, there have been years of appalling mystery shopper results by the likes of the Department for Trade and Industry (DTI), while in-fighting between key bodies means the motor trade has, so far, failed to regulate itself.

Things may be about to change, though, because the industry has just got is act together and launched a new code of practice. It's working to put its house in order and treat you better.

Can this new code save the day? Read on to find out.
