What Car? Personal Shopper: best sporty SUV for £25k
Want a new car but don't know where to start? Just send us your criteria and we'll give our new and used car choices, and tell you how much we can save you...

Our recommendation – buy new
The three used buys give you a prestige badge and a more upmarket interior than the Seat Ateca, while the Porsche Cayenne and Skoda Kodiaq are both from the class above. However, the Ateca still has a big, well-shaped boot and loads of room for adults in both the front and the rear.
It should be more than practical enough for Sam's needs, then, but what gives it the win is the fact that it's also one of the best-handling SUVs on sale today. The Cayenne may combine well-weighted steering with good body control, but it simply doesn't offer the driving fun that the Ateca does, and it will cost far more to run.
Our recommendation this time, then, is to buy new.
