The small SUV is one of the UK’s most popular types of cars, led by the Ford Puma which is consistently Britain’s biggest-selling model.

It’s not hard to understand their success: they pack a high driving position and rugged looks into a compact footprint. The best are as adept at threading down winding country lane as they are ferrying the kids to school or parking in tight city streets.
