Used Skoda Superb 2024-present reliability review
The fourth-generation Skoda Superb is still the practicality king. It’s a great used buy if that’s a priority
What should I look for in a used Skoda Superb?
When viewing a used car, always follow our used car buying checklist.
The Skoda Superb is often used as a family car, taxi or high-mileage company car, so check the interior carefully for excessive wear. Inspect the seats, carpets and door trims for stains or damage, and make sure all seat adjustments work properly. The Superb's huge boot is one of its biggest selling points, so look for scratches or damaged trim that could suggest it's been used to carry heavy loads.
On the outside, inspect the bodywork for dents, scrapes and stone chips, particularly around the bumpers, doors and front end. Check that the panel gaps are even and the paint finish is consistent, while the alloy wheels are worth examining closely for kerb damage.
Check all four tyres for even wear and plenty of tread, because uneven wear could point to suspension or wheel alignment issues. During a test drive, listen for any knocks from the suspension and make sure the steering feels precise. The gearbox should operate smoothly, too.
Take time to test the infotainment system, ensuring the touchscreen, smartphone connectivity, climate controls and any fitted parking cameras or driver assistance features all work correctly without warning messages. As always, a full service history is a valuable sign that the car has been well maintained.
What are the most common problems with a used Skoda Superb?

Is a used Skoda Superb reliable?
The fourth-generation Skoda Superb is too new to have featured in the latest What Car? Reliability, and the same applies to its sister car, the Volkswagen Passat. But to give you a steer on its dependability, Skoda finished in 16th place out of 30 manufacturers in the brand reliability category. That places it above Audi, Mercedes and Volkswagen, but below BMW and Lexus.
