2014 Mini Countryman revealed

This is the face-lifted Mini Countryman, unveiled ahead of its public debut at this week’s New York Auto Show.

The cosmetic revisions to the car are relatively minor, but they are designed to make it easier to distinguish a four-wheel-drive Countryman from its front-drive brethren. Four-wheel-drive versions now get beefier side sills and different front and rear bumpers. All models also get a hexagonal radiator grille that’s a little more aggressive than the one it replaces and there are new paint finishes, including Jungle Green and Starlight Blue metallics.

The tweaks to the Countryman’s engine line-up are potentially more significant. All of the car’s motors become EU6-compliant and there are small gains in efficiency across the range. The cleanest Countryman editions, the One D and Cooper D, now emit 111g/km of CO2, while the petrol-engined Cooper S gets a power gain, up to 187bhp, but lowers its CO2 emissions to 139g/km.

Other modifications include the addition of daytime running lights and tyre pressure monitoring as a standard feature across the line-up, along with rear park sensors, air-conditioning, DAB radio and Bluetooth connectivity.

The revised Countryman will go on sale in the UK this summer. Prices haven't been announced but we’d expect them to stay broadly in line with the existing car’s, with a starting figure of around £16,750.
