Best used luxury SUVs
A used luxury SUV can make you feel like a millionaire, but if you follow our top 10 list, you won’t need a lottery win to afford one...
7. Audi Q8
Up until now we’ve mostly focused on practicality, but the recently introduced Audi Q8 provides luxury SUV buyers a more rakish shape at the expense of less spacious interior accommodation. It shares components with the high-performance Lamborghini Urus, so the handling is pretty decent, plus the 3.0-litre diesel engine in the 50 TDI is very swift indeed.

Possibly the most versatile vehicle on this list, the Land Rover Discovery has no trouble seating seven fully-grown adults inside before setting off to tackle a trek across the Himalayas. The latter is made possible by its very advanced off-road terrain management system, which lets you alter the ride height, set up the low-range gearbox, lock the centre differential and direct appropriate power to the wheels with the most traction to keep you going in the trickiest of situations. It’s also impressively refined, particularly when equipped with a 3.0-litre V6 diesel engine, and is very easy to drive.
We found: 2017 Land Rover Discovery 3.0 TD6 HSE, 21,481 miles, £40,901
5. Porsche Cayenne
If the BMW X5 was the one to show the world how to make big cars handle like a well sorted estate car, then the Porsche Cayenne was the one to make them feel like a sports car. Admittedly, its ride can be a bit firm compared with other luxury SUVs, but the upside is that it can negotiate a country road far faster than any other off-roader. And it isn’t just quick in the corners; there’s a Turbo S version with 562bhp that makes mincemeat of any straight. We’d stick with the very impressive 3.0-litre diesel for some more respectable fuel economy figures, mind.
We found: 2016 Porsche Cayenne 3.0 diesel, 40,000 miles, £33,990
