Deal of the Day: Lease a Hyundai Tucson from £268 per month

The Hyundai Tucson is a well-rounded and stylish family SUV, and you could lease one for a keen price with our deals...

Hyundai Tucson front cornering

If you’re in the market for a new family SUV, there’s a good chance the Hyundai Tucson is high up on your list. Despite being in competition with a lot of extremely strong rivals, it holds its own and is overall an impressive offering.

Indeed, the Tucson offers everything a family SUV should, including plenty of space, a wide range of engine options and a comfortable ride. So, if that all sounds good to you, then you might be pleased to know that you could put a new Tucson on your driveway from just £268 per month.

To do that, you’ll need to opt for a 36-month contract with an annual mileage limit of 5000 miles, and an initial payment of £3210. The annual 5000 mile restriction isn’t a huge allowance, so you’ll have to be careful to avoid excess mileage charges.

If you regularly cover more miles, you could opt for a more common 36-month, 10,000-mile agreement with six months initial rental (£1971.12), which will cost £328.52 per month.

There’s a version of the Tucson for everybody, with either petrol, mild hybrid, hybrid or plug-in hybrid power. Our Deal of the Day is a full hybrid, featuring a 1.6-litre petrol engine alongside a battery big enough for short bursts of all-electric driving around town.

With 212bhp, the Tucson’s performance isn’t pedestrian at all. It feels at home at motorway speeds, and it can shoot from 0-60mph in 6.8sec in our tests – faster than an equivalent Kia Sportage.

It’s good to drive too, especially with its smaller 17in wheels and soft suspension that soaks up potholes and bumps in the road nicely at low speeds. While the Tucson isn’t quite as controlled as rivals like the Sportage or Volkswagen Tiguan, it still has plenty of grip and feels comfortable at a more laid-back pace.

Inside, the Tucson gets a user-friendly layout with a 12.3in digital driver’s display behind the wheel and a matching 12.3in infotainment touchscreen. The latter has a crisp display and sharp graphics, and it’s accompanied by a host of physical buttons and dials that are easy to operate on the move. You shouldn’t have too many issues getting used to the touchscreen, though, since its menus are easily navigable and quick to respond.

As expected from Hyundai, the Tucson comes equipped with a load of kit including wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, Bluetooth connectivity, DAB radio, wireless phone charging and a sat-nav.

The Tucson is certainly not short of interior space, with enough room for even the tallest of occupants to stretch out and get comfortable. There’s also a number of storage cubbies, including a roomy glovebox and a number of trays inside the centre console.

With 577 litres of boot space, the Tucson is also exceedingly practical. Non-hybrid versions get slightly more space, but when we tested the hybrid version, we managed to fit eight carry-on suitcases below the parcel shelf – matching the Sportage hybrid.

Our Deal of the Day comes in entry-level Advance trim, which comes well equipped with 17in alloy wheels, dual-zone climate control, cruise control, keyless ignition, rear privacy glass and ambient lighting..
