Jeep Compass: exclusive reader test team event

Be one of the first people in the UK to see the all-new Jeep Compass small SUV...

We’re offering a small number of What Car? readers the opportunity to attend an exclusive preview of this exciting new model on Friday 13th June in Leighton Buzzard, Bedfordshire.

The new Jeep Compass is the latest generation of Jeep’s rugged small SUV, which will slot in just above the Avenger and Renegade in terms of size. It will take on the likes of the Kia EV6 and Peugeot 3008.

For the first time, the Compass will be available with pure electric power in three different forms: two front-wheel drive options, offering 210bhp and 228bhp, and an all-wheel-drive 4xe version, offering 370bhp.

In its most efficient form, the Compass can officially manage up to 403 miles of electric range, which is even further than the Tesla Model Y Long Range.

If you’re not ready to make the jump to pure electrification, the Compass is also available with mild hybrid and plug-in hybrid power. The mild hybrid combines a 1.2-litre petrol engine with a small electric motor for a total power output of 143bhp – punchier than the hybrid Peugeot 3008.

In keeping with Jeep’s off-roading heritage, there’s also an all-wheel-drive 4xe model available, which gets an extra 66bhp at the rear motor.

Inside, the Compass gets a 10.25in digital instrument cluster and 16.0in infotainment screen, with most of the more important functions like climate controls laid out on a physical button bar.
