New Audi Q3 vs New Volvo XC40
The XC40 is our favourite family SUV and a former What Car? car of the Year, but is Audi's all-new Q3 even better?...

Infotainment
Audi Q3
The Audi Q3 has a 10.1in touchscreen with a DAB radio, sat-nav, and Android Auto and Apple CarPlay smartphone mirroring. Although we have no complaints about the features, the touchscreen is trickier to use than Audi’s old dial controller. While most of the icons are large, the graphics sharp and responses snappy, the screen is sited a bit too low on the dashboard, so you have to look well away from the road.

Volvo XC40
You may get a 9.0in touchscreen with a DAB radio and sat-nav with the Volvo XC40 but you have to pay extra for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone mirroring. Although the screen is big, the smartphone display is limited to the bottom half, so it’s pretty small. The graphics are good but not quite as sharp as the Q3’s, while the menus take a bit more getting used to. We also wish many of the icons were a little bigger.
