New Skoda Superb vs used Audi A4 – alternatives
The Vauxhall Insignia may not be the most exciting car to drive, but it's huge inside and out. Rear head room is a little compromised by the swoopy roofline, but leg room is excellent. Most models come with sat-nav, and you can get some high-end tech for a little extra money. The 1.6-litre diesel engine is quite quiet, too.
The Audi A4 and BMW 3 Series have been at loggerheads for years. The 3 Series is characterised by its rear-wheel-drive platform and fine handling, but it also has some outstanding engine options and one of the best infotainment systems in the business. Used values remain strong but there are still some good deals to be had.
New Skoda Superb vs used Audi A4 – which is best?
If you have older children, you’ll appreciate the extra room in the Superb, and its hatchback boot lid means it’s a bit more practical than the A4.
The Superb is also (if you’ll pardon the pun) superb value for money, but then so is the A4, which has lost a considerable amount of money in its first year – something that the Superb, as a new car, will also have to go through.
The A4 has a better-executed interior and it’s more enjoyable to drive, plus it’ll cost you less to run in the long term.
