Honda scooped the Reader Award at the 2015 What Car? Car of the Year awards for the HR-V, which is due in the summer this year.
Before then, the Honda CR-V facelift will go on sale in March, meaning that prices for the outgoing version are dropping. Here's our pick from the deals available online.
The car: Honda CR-V 2.2 i-DTEC SE
The saving: £4536
The discounted price: £22,604

The 2.2-litre diesel in this deal is our pick of the Honda CR-V range because it’s powerful, relatively economical and pulls well from low revs.
Considering its size and height, the CR-V handles well and is quite relaxing to drive. It’s also fairly comfortable; the suspension does a good job of soaking up smaller road imperfections around town.
Inside, the CR-V's fit and finish is of a high standard. The model also scored well in the JD Power customer satisfaction survey, being rated as above average for reliability.
The CR-V is also a very practical car to own, with a 589-litre boot that expands to 1648 litres with the rear seats folded. Those seats can be dropped by pulling a lever in the boot to make life even easier. Generous head- and legroom and easy rear seat access means this is a very family-friendly car.
Rivals such as the Mazda CX-5 are more fuel efficient and handle better. The CR-V has slow and vague steering and is inclined to lean in to corners more than other SUVs. Mid-corner bumps can unsettle the car making it shimmy over the road surface.
The diesel engines are fairly gruff-sounding and don’t settle down when cruising. The optional five-speed automatic gearbox is hesitant and indecisive, and when it does eventually go for a gearshift it’s not particularly smooth.
Should I add any options?
SE trim comes with Bluetooth, parking sensors, automatic lights and wipers and a leather steering wheel.
Alloy upgrades are available as an optional extra, with 18-inch and 19-inch wheels costing £995 and £1195 respectively.
Anything else I should know?
This deal is only available when taking out PCP finance at 4.0% APR Representative over a period of up to 37 months with no minimum deposit. If you're paying cash, you'll need to add £1500 to the total price.
A five-year servicing package is available for £525, and a five-year warranty, roadside assistance and servicing bundle costs £845.
