What should I look for in a used Citroen Berlingo?
When viewing a used car, always follow our used car buying checklist.
Rear parking sensors aren’t standard on the entry-level Feel model and front ones aren't even included on the top-of-the-range Flair. The normal Berlingo is a pretty sizeable vehicle, but the seven-seat XL model is even more cumbersome, so look out for parking scrapes to the front and rear bumpers.
Alloy wheels are fairly well protected by the tyre sidewalls, but you should still look for any kerb damage. Also, any large chunks taken out of the rim could be an indication that the suspension has taken a knock and its alignment could do with a check.
The Berlingo is primarily a family, and its interior might have taken a bit of a battering. With that in mind, look out for any bits of broken plastic and stains to some of the lighter-coloured parts of the interior upholstery.
Is a used Citroen Berlingo reliable?
There were too few examples of the Berlingo to make it a feature in our most recent What Car? Reliability Survey, but Citroën, as a car brand, finished in an excellent seventh place out of 31 manufacturers with an overall score of 94.1%. That placed it above Audi, Ford, Peugeot and Volkswagen, but below Honda, Suzuki and Toyota.
