As part of our continuing efforts to make buying a great used car as easy as possible, we've teamed up with heycar to launch an online used car buying section to complement our roster of nearly 1000 used reviews.
All of the cars for sale – which you can search through here – are quality checked, come with a warranty, are less than eight years old and have covered less than 100,000 miles. And with 145,000 of them, there's no shortage of choice.
We've already been scouring the adverts so we can reveal some of the very best buys we've come across so far, no matter what sort of car you're after. Our list includes everything from SUVs to performance models, but we start with the city car class first.
Whether you're looking for an inexpensive to get to work or simply looking for a dependable urban runabout, the Suzuki Celerio has a lot to offer as a second hand purchase.
Suzuki has historically done well in terms of reliability, and the Celerio has often been close to the top of some of our previous surveys. The Celerio is also remarkably spacious inside given its diminutive exterior dimensions. Lastly, it has a fuel-sipping 1.0-litre engine and clever lightweight construction, which means it shouldn't break the bank to run.
There are loads of reasons why the Vauxhall Corsa has always been a popular choice. First, it's really easy to drive – great for new drivers venturing out into the world. Second, it was, and still remains one of the roomiest small cars around, with plenty of rear leg room.
And the third reason is that there are so many different trim levels and engine combinations that there will be a Corsa to fit any need or budget. We've picked out an Energy model because it comes with a few big-car features such as heated front seats and steering wheel. It also, like many Corsas, has a heated windscreen that's a real boon on a frosty morning, because it saves you freezing your fingers in cold weather while trying to clear ice before you set off.
Something that's often-overlooked, but really shouldn't be is the Vauxhall Astra, a car that drives well, comes with plenty of equipment, and is spectacular value for money. The example we found is around a year old and has air-con, and infotainment system to hook up your smartphone to, and cruise control. But the best bit is that you can have all this for under £9500.
