Deal of the Day: Lease a Toyota Aygo X from £185 per month
The Toyota Aygo X is packed with kit, but also cheap to run – and you could lease one for a keen price with our deals...

The Toyota Aygo X is a prime example of the fact that you don’t have to go fully electric for affordable and fun driving. With its thrifty petrol engine and dinky proportions, the old Aygo X was a great runabout for trips around town.
Following a recent update, the Aygo X is now offered exclusively with hybrid power – but you can still get your hands on a pure-petrol Aygo X for a keen price with our leasing deals. Indeed, you could put a new one on your driveway for as little as £190 per month.
To do that, you’ll need to opt for a 48-month contract with an annual mileage limit of 6000 miles, and an initial payment of £1656.45. The annual 6000 mile restriction isn’t a huge allowance, so you’ll have to be careful to avoid excess mileage charges.
If you regularly cover more miles, you could opt for a more common 36-month, 10,000-mile agreement with six months initial rental (£1302.60), which will cost £217.10 per month.
This version of the Aygo X comes with its old 1.0-litre petrol engine, pumping out 71bhp. With no turbocharging or hybrid assistance, that power is rather pedestrian, but if you do a lot of urban driving, you won’t struggle to keep up with traffic.
Our Deal of the Day comes equipped with the Aygo X’s five-speed manual gearbox, which we find much easier to get on with than the automatic option. However, you will find you have to work it hard on faster roads.
With its compact proportions, the Aygo X is enjoyable to drive, with neat handling, limited body lean and nicely-weighted steering. Indeed, it’s more fun than a Dacia Sandero – but if you’re looking for sportier driving, it’s worth looking at the pricier Seat Ibiza.

Inside, you’ll find a traditional speedometer with a small 4.2in screen in the middle, which gives you your speed in digits, fuel economy and any music that’s playing. Our Deal of the Day also comes with a 9.0in infotainment touchscreen, which includes Android Auto and Apple CarPlay smartphone mirroring as standard.
Given its low price, the Aygo X feels well screwed together inside, with solid physical dials for the air-con and a leather steering wheel. You’ll have to pay a significant premium if you want a car with even plusher materials – indeed, the Aygo X has the edge over cheap and cheerful rivals like the Sandero.
The Aygo X doesn’t feel much like a small car up front, with plenty of room for the driver and a companion beside them. However, you’ll find that space is much more restricted in the back, with just two seatbelts, so if you plan on carrying around more than one passenger frequently, you might be better off looking elsewhere.
Our Deal of the Day comes kitted out in entry-level Pure trim, which we think comes with everything you need. It includes 17in alloy wheels, electric front windows, automatic headlights, air conditioning, a reversing camera and adaptive cruise control.
This previous-generation Aygo X also performed very well in our 2025 What Car? Reliability Survey, with a score of 99.7%. And thanks to its economical petrol engine, it should be cheap to run, too.
