The Skoda Elroq is a fantastic electric SUV because it combines a competitive range with tempting pricing and impressive practicality. Plus, it's better to drive than the rival Kia EV3 and Renault Scenic. For us, the 60 Edition version is particularly appealing.
The trim
Entry-level SE trim includes 19in alloy wheels, a two-spoke steering wheel, LED headlights, single-zone climate control, a reversing camera and rear parking sensors. You also get Android Auto and Apple CarPlay smartphone mirroring.
The engine
The 168bhp electric motor that you get in the Elroq 50 propels it from 0-62mph in 9.0 seconds, while in more everyday situations the car only starts to feel a little strained when heavily loaded. However, the 232-mile official range that this model's 52kWh (usable capacity) battery delivers means you'll be getting less than 200 miles in cold weather.
