    My car

Just bought one of these a few weeks ago from a dealer/carshop based in Swindon. 2011 model, 41k (FSH)- new shape in black metallic and, thankfully, not the silly new grill used on the latest models.

Had a slight problem when I first bought the car - it ran poorly when cold and idled badly, was fixed by my local Ford dealer by re-fitting a loose pipe from the turbo. Now starting to get used to the car and it purrs like a kitten. Very responsive turbo and handles exactly as all the reviews say.

Lots of equipment - Voice controls, CD/MP3, DAB radio, Bluetooth, Air-Con etc. Very nice to drive and everything works a treat.

A lovely drive and I picked it up for less than half the price when new......Result!

I previously wrote a review back in 2013 for the 1.0 ecoboost 125 titanium x. I took delivery of my new 1.5 tdci 120 titanium x 2 days ago, and in this short time have fallen in love all over again! I find it smooth, quiet and refined. The only reason I gave it 4 stars for running costs is because it is too early to give a proper verdict, although early signs are encouraging. I love this car and find it so easy to drive. No regrets whatsoever!

    My car

I bought this car brand new on the 1st March 2014. The Focus was highly recommended by a mechanic I use for its reliability and low maintenance costs. Its fuel economy was also a big contributing factor to my purchase as I drive 80 miles per day to and from work. My journey consists of approximately 17 miles along a dual carriageway, 3 miles through a city (traffic is very light at the times of day I travel), followed by 20 miles along a relatively quiet country road and then back home again. I do not drive the car hard or fast, sticking to speed limits and driving sensibly. On the dual carriageway I will often drive at 60-65 mph when not in a rush. My average fuel consumption is 63 mpg, which despite being very good, falls seriously short of Ford's advertised mpg. I recently drove to Oban and my mpg increased to 69 mpg, however a few weeks ago I did a lot of local running about and the mpg dropped to 59. Putting the mpg on one side, the car handles beautifully, drives well and has sufficient power for my needs. I would certainly highly recommend this car, just bear in mind you are highly unlikely to achieve the high mpg Ford say is attainable.
