Skoda Octavia Scout revealed

The Skoda Octavia Scout has debuted at the Geneva motor show.

The Scout is based on the Octavia Estate, and is intended to offer more in the way of off-road ability than the standard car.

It sits higher than the standard version, to offer 33mm improved ground clearance. Every version is also set to be offered with four-wheel drive.

To protect the Octavia Scout on trickier terrain, it comes with black plastic cladding around the wheelarches, large black bumpers front and rear and protective cladding around the side sills.

Further external features include 17-inch alloy wheels, a wider front air intake and embossed fog lights.

Inside, it gets a three-spoke steering wheel and several design features that are unique to the Scout.

The UK engine range is yet to be confirmed, but Skoda has confirmed that the Octavia Scout will be offered globally with a choice of two diesels and one petrol. The diesels are expected to be the two 148bhp and 181bhp 2.0-litre units.

Pricing is also yet to be confirmed, although it is expected to cost around £23,000.

The Skoda Octavia Scout is due on sale in the UK in June.
