The Toyota RAV4 2012 goes on sale later this month – eight weeks ahead of schedule because of strong demand, says Toyota.
The 2012 RAV4 gets subtle equipment upgrades; there are new alloys for XTR and SR models, and XTR models gain a keyless entry system.
Most significant, though, is the addition of Toyota Touch – a touch-screen control system – for all versions. The more sophisticated Touch and Go system is now standard on higher-spec cars and an option for the rest of the range.
The Touch and GO system includes:
Sat-nav
Live traffic information
SMS text message function
Bluetooth
Google local search and downloadable apps
Rear-view camera
Audio streaming function
iPod album cover display
The choice between a 2.0 petrol model or 2.2 diesel engine remains as before. Prices are also unchanged: the entry-level 2.2 D-4D XT-R costs £23,870 and the 2.2 D-Cat SR tops the range at £28,620. An all-new RAV4 is due on sale in 2013.
