For The Hybrid4 Has most of the regular 3008’s virtues, but also gives you 74mpg and less that 99g/km, making it very cheap to run.

Against It’s not so cheap to buy, the ride is firm at low speeds and there’s a fair bit of body lean in bends

The Hybrid 4 is our current Green SUV of the Year, and one of the finest hybrids money can buy. For most people, though, we reckon the 1.6THP version is the pick.

Buyer's notes

Target Price team says:

The 3008 comes with two 1.6-litre petrol engines (with 118bhp or 154bhp in the turbocharged THP), and 1.6 HDI and 2.0 HDI diesels. There’s also a diesel hybrid version, which is expensive to buy but returns fantastic figures for fuel consumption and emissions. It’s our Green SUV of the Year. For most buyers, though, we reckon the more powerful petrol engine is the pick of the range.

Trim levels give high levels of standard equipment, and top-end models have all the luxuries and latest gadgets.

Peugeot dealers are generally happy to haggle, and now that the 3008 has been on sale for a while, you should be able to get a decent discount. Watch out, too, for low-rate finance schemes and other incentives; as large mainstream retailers, Peugeot dealers have room for manoeuvre.
