2021 Mercedes S-Class verdict and specs

The all-new Mercedes S-Class may look restrained from the outside, but there's a bold new interior packed full of tech. Is it the new king of luxury?...

Mercedes S-Class 2021 side

Mercedes generally goes all-out with any new S-Class and this one’s no exception. From the powerful, refined and seemingly fairly frugal engine up front to the big boot out back, it's properly impressive. It certainly leapfrogs the BMW 7 Series and looks set to be a stern challenge for the Audi A8

However, while the Mercedes impresses in many areas, it's not quite as comfy as our favoured Audi, and as tested, it's a fair bit pricier too. The sumptuous interior could also do with a few more physical buttons, although the genuinely clever voice control does offset that somewhat.
