Mercedes S63 AMG pricing announced
* Prices announced for 577bhp S-Class * UK gets long-wheelbase version only * On sale in November, from £119k...
The range-topping version of the S-Class limousine – the S63 AMG – goes on sale in November, priced from £119,565.
The S63 gets a 5.5-litre twin-turbocharged V8 engine, which produces 577bhp and 664lb ft of torque, coupled to AMG’s seven-speed dual clutch gearbox. This means that the limo will accelerate from 0-62 mph in 4.4 seconds, and on to a top speed of 155mph.
The claimed fuel economy is 27.9mpg and it emits 237g/km of CO2. The S63’s exterior has subtle styling changes over the standard S-Class, with revised front and rear bumpers, side sills and a black rear diffuser that houses the chromed exhausts.
The premium for the S63 is more than £31,000 over the next most expensive model – the S500 L AMG Line. Beyond the driveline changes, this extra cost also includes plenty of upgrades in the cabin.
The S63 AMG gets leather sports seats, and AMG instrument cluster and aluminium gearshift paddles behind a new sports steering wheel. There’s also a panoramic glass roof, premium surround sound system and keyless entry.
Mercedes will increase the car’s speed limiter from 155mph to 186mph as part of the ‘Drivers Package’ that costs another £2760, and which also includes a day of training on a race circuit.
Ceramic brakes can be specified as an option, along with carbonfibre trim on the bodywork.
