A major perk of an electric powertrain is the amount of space it frees up. Five adults will be able to get comfortable, while the floor is completely flat, giving all three rear passengers plenty of room for their feet.
You can even specify the Model S as a seven-seater with two rear-facing seats in the boot, although these are really only suitable for small children.
The fact that the batteries are under the floor and the electric motor is so much smaller than a petrol or diesel engine allows the huge boot at the rear of the car to be supplemented by an additional storage area beneath the bonnet. And the boot itself is accessed via a hatchback tailgate that makes it easier to load large item of luggage than it is in big saloon.
There's a huge central storage bin between the front seats, and the rear seats fold flat to further aid usability. Oddly, you don’t get any door bins, so it’s handy the glovebox is a decent size.
