2020 Peugeot 508 Hybrid verdict
With plug-in hybrids now more tempting than ever, can the Peugeot 508 Hybrid rise to the top of the class?...

Although we find it hard to recommend the 508 Hybrid in a high trim level costing in excess of £40,000, an Allure (our favourite trim) at less than £35,000 makes a lot more sense, especially when you consider you can get another £1500 off with our Target Price discounts.
At this price, it’s a little cheaper than the Skoda Superb iV and comes decently equipped, too. CO2 emissions from just 29g/km and a 30 mile plus electric only range puts it in the 10% bracket for company car tax, the same as the 330e and Superb.
Even so, the far more spacious, comfier and still classy Superb remains our favourite plug-in hybrid for around £35,000. If you’ve got the budget to consider a GT spec 508 Hybrid, then we’d point you towards the admittedly less well equipped BMW 330e M Sport.
