New Hyundai i10 vs Kia Picanto: verdict
Kia's smart and surprisingly sophisticated little Picanto is our reigning Value Car of the Year. Can the all-new Hyundai i10 dethrone it?...

Verdict
The Picanto didn’t become a multi-time What Car? Award winner by fluke and is still a compelling car. It’s a hoot to zip about in, thanks to a peppy engine and agreeable handling. Plus, it has a fine driving position and a well-equipped infotainment system that’s easy to use.
However, as father time ticks by, the mother of invention knuckles down to work, and the new i10 is the fruit of her labour. It matches the Picanto’s great infotainment and driving position and betters it for ride comfort, quietness and rear seat space. Yes, its engine isn’t as strong, but you’re paid back with added frugality. Talking of cost, if you’re buying on finance, the i10 is almost as affordable yet better equipped.
