New V12 Vantage S Roadster is Aston's quickest convertible yet

The new 201mph Aston Martin V12 Vantage S Roadster will be Aston’s quickest ever convertible when it is launched later this year.

The S Roadster replaces the previous V12 Vantage Roadster. It uses the 6.0-litre engine from the Vanquish, which produces 565bhp. Pulling power of 457 lb ft helps the car to cover the 0-60mph dash in just 3.9 seconds.

Drive is through a new seven-speed automated manual gearbox, which weighs 20kg less than the six-speeder in the old car.

The new Vantage S Roadster offers three driving modes – Normal, Sport, and Track – which vary damper, throttle and steering settings depending on the driver’s requirements. Completing the list of mechanical upgrades are specially designed carbon ceramic brakes and a lightweight sports exhaust.

Styling mirrors that of the Vantage S Coupe, which means a carbonfibre grill surround, fitted with either black or titanium mesh inserts, and the option of lightweight 10-spoke alloy wheels.

Owners can specify new lightweight carbonfibre sports seats, a carbonfibre facia and door pulls, plus black pedals.

Aston Martin will also launch its new Q Collection with the debut of the Vantage S Roadster. This will enable customers to choose from a range of bespoke styling options, such as additional colour combinations and red or satin finish carbonfibre detailing.

Official pricing for the new car has yet to be revealed, but expect prices to start at around £153,000.
