Volvo and estates go together like Ikea and flat pack furniture, with the Volvo V90 the latest to arrive.
It's based on the Swedish car maker's large executive saloon, the S90, and while it's actually a couple of centimeters shorter than that car (for styling reasons), the V90 still has a large boot behind its five seats.
Right now, the only engine options are a pair of 2.0-litre diesels: the 187bhp D4 and 232bhp D5. However, a T8 petrol-electric hybrid will join the range soon..
Buyers of these sort of estates aren’t just looking for space; they also want a comfortable ride, a sharp drive, strong engines and generous levels of luxury and equipment. Thankfully, the V90 has most of those bases covered.
Read on over the next few pages to see if the Volvo V90 cuts it in these areas, and to get our in depth impressions, along with our recommendations for which trim level and engine to choose.
