This is the most powerful and fastest production SUV ever made by Porsche – the face-lifted Cayenne Turbo S.
What is it?
The Cayenne Turbo S is the range-topping performance version of the face-lifted Porsche Cayenne range. It has been unveiled at the Detroit motor show ahead of UK sales starting in March.
It establishes lofty new power and performance benchmarks within Porsche’s SUV line-up. It is also claimed to be the first production SUV to lap the demanding Nurburgring circuit in less than eight minutes.
What engines can I choose from?
There is just one engine offered with the Cayenne Turbo S. It is powered by a reworked version of the standard Cayenne Turbo’s twin-turbocharged 4.8-litre V8 petrol engine.
It has 20bhp and 31lb ft of torque more than its predecessor, packing 562bhp at 6000rpm and 589lb ft of torque on a band of revs between 2400 and 4000rpm.
It is all-wheel drive as standard and features an eight-speed automatic gearbox. The Cayenne Turbo S can travel from 0-62mph in 4.1sec and reach a top speed of 176mph.
How much equipment does it come with?
Standard equipment includes dynamic chassis control, which aims to reduce body roll during cornering. Torque vectoring plus is also standard, which constantly various the amount of drive being delivered to each of the rear wheels for more neutral on the limit handling.
What Porsche describes as faster acting traction management is another standard piece of equipment, which constantly varies the amount of power being delivered to the front wheels for added traction.
Other equipment includes alloy wheels of 21in in diameter, dynamic LED headlights, gloss black trim, carbon ceramic brakes, and a new cream and black colour scheme in a leather lined cabin featuring carbonfibre-look trim.

The Cayenne Turbo S has been priced from £118,455.
Can I get a discount?

How good are its rivals?
The Cayenne Turbo S arrives at a time when several performance SUVs are about to come to market. The 567bhp BMW X5 M will reach the UK in April, priced from £90,170. The 542bhp Range Rover Sport SVR will go on sale in February priced from £93,450.
The two-star Mercedes-Benz ML63 AMG remains on sale, but will soon be replaced by a model called GLE.
