Maserati GranCabrio unveiled

This stunning drop-top is Maserati's all-new GranCabrio.

It's the first four-seater convertible in the brand's history and is based on the GranTurismo coupe.

Spacious interior
The GranCabrio will be a genuine four-seater, with the 'longest wheelbase on the market', according to Maserati.

The new model will have a fabric roof, despite earlier reports suggesting that it would use a folding metal top.

Available in time for next summer
More details of the GranCabrio are expected to be released when it's unveiled at the Frankfurt motor show next month, but Maserati has revealed that it will get a 433bhp 4.7-litre V8 engine.

Prices have yet to be confirmed, but we expect a healthy premium over the GranTurismo S, which uses the same engine. That means a likely starting point of at least 95,000.

The GranCabrio will go on sale in spring next year.
