Toyota’s facelifted 2015 RAV4 has been unveiled at the New York motor show.
What is it?
The facelifted fourth-generation Toyota RAV4 will go on sale at the end of this year. It features revised styling, better interior quality and a host of new technology. A Hybrid version will join the range in early 2016.
What engines can I choose from?
The Hybrid will be powered by a 2.5-litre petrol engine and electric motor, with an extra electric motor powering the rear axle. No details of other engines have been released.
How much equipment does it come with?
The facelift brings new technology to the RAV4, including a Lane Departure Alert, Automatic High Beam, and Road Sign Assist. All these safety features will also be found in Toyota’s forthcoming Avensis and Auris, which are due on sale in the summer. In addition, the RAV4 will get adaptive cruise control and a Pre-Collision System that uses autonomous braking to avoid impacts.
A new colour screen features inside, and a 360deg camera will display obstacles in the driver’s blindspots on it.
How much will the new Totota RAV4 cost?
Full pricing and specifications will be announced nearer its on-sale date in December. The current RAV4 range is priced from £22,495 to £28,750.
How good are its rivals?
There’s strong competition in the RAV4’s class, with the Mazda CX-5, Nissan Qashqai and Ford Kuga all rivaling Toyota’s SUV. It will, however, be the first of the bunch to offer a hybrid engine.
Can I get a discount?
Our Target Price team has found discounts of around 10% across the current range, so there should be similar discounts available after the facelift’s launch.
