Our verdict

This latest Swift continues Suzuki’s tradition of offering generously equipped cars for not much money. It has a strong, frugal engine to boot, plus it’s good fun to drive and reasonably roomy in the back.

Hyundai takes the win, though, with its i20 beating the Swift for space, practicality and interior quality. It’s also slightly more comfortable and has a much better infotainment system. Its incredibly low price and cheaper running costs are merely the icing on the cake.
