Skoda Octavia vRS 230 showcased in Geneva

The Skoda Octavia vRS 230 is the fastest series production car ever made by Skoda.

The Czech manufacturer has showcased the new go-faster model at the Geneva motor show, ahead of European sales beginning in June.

Power from the Octavia vRS 230's 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine is rated at 227bhp. The new model also gets aggressive styling both inside and out, as well as bespoke interior trim.

Skoda says the vRS 230 is also the first Skoda to come with an electronic differential lock as standard. The 0-62mph sprint is covered in 6.7 seconds, while the vRS 230 has a top speed of 155mph.

Both hatchback and estate versions of the vRS 230 will be available, and although official pricing has yet to be revealed the hot Skoda is expected to command a premium over the £24,100 standard Octavia vRS.
