The 402bhp GTS models are 23bhp more powerful than standard 3.8-litre cars, while the four-wheel-drive system helps to give it a slight edge over the two-wheel-drive versions which were launched last December.

With the standard six-speed manual gearbox, the Carrera 4 GTS Coupe can blast from 0-62mph in 4.6sec (4.8secs for the Cabrio) while the optional PDK dual-clutch gearbox shaves a further 0.2sec from those times.

Other figures are unchanged compared with the two-wheel drive-versions, including average economy at 26.9mpg and CO2 emissions of 247g/km.
