Santa Fe cleans up with more power
* Hyundai 4x4 is faster, greener and cheaper * One of the lowest-CO2 SUVs * On sale in January, from 21,495...

The Hyundai Santa Fe has been updated with a more powerful diesel engine, reduced CO2 emissions and lower entry-level pricing.
Range cut to two trims
The Santa Fe range has also been simplified, with just two trims now being offered.
Entry-level Style versions come with plenty of standard equipment, including 17-inch alloys, reversing sensors and stability control.
The higher-spec Premium trim adds 18-inch alloys, dual-zone climate control and leather upholstery. Both versions can be specified with optional third-row seating for an extra 750.
More powerful and economical engine
Just one engine is available in the UK: an all-new 2.2-litre CRDi diesel. With 194bhp and 311lb/ft of torque, the engine offers 41bhp more power and 64lb/ft more muscle than the engine it replaces, but it's also more economical.
When specified with a manual gearbox, the Santa Fe now gives an average of 41.5mpg and CO2 emissions of 176g/km 15g/km less than the previous Santa Fe. This reduces the liability for company car drivers from 29% to 26%.
Buyers should also enjoy reduced running costs thanks to the extended service interval, which is now 20,000 miles.
Cheaper to buy, too
The new Santa Fe undercuts the outgoing version, with the entry-level Style scheduled to cost 21,495 when it goes on sale in January and that's including the increased 17.5% VAT rate. The previous entry-level GSI five-seat version cost 21,590 with 15% VAT.
