For
The hybrid system provides reasonable performance, all-wheel-drive traction and low running costs. Its 197bhp makes it punchy, and it puts out just 85g/km of CO2, so its appealing to company buyers.
Wind and road noise are both kept well in check, and thumps from the suspension are only obvious on really poor road surfaces.
The cabin is a strong point. It’s built from sturdy, attractive materials and its swooping design is attractive. Head- and shoulder-room are good for all occupants and the boot is large, with a useful floor divider to help store luggage.
It comes loaded with plenty of safety gear – partly the reason the car achieved a full five-star Euro NCAP safety rating. The 3008 is also dependable, as seen by its decent showing in the 2014 JD Power survey.
Against
Rivals such as the Mazda CX-5 and Nissan Qashqai are better to drive. 3008s that don’t come with Dynamic Roll Control have a less-forgiving ride over bumps and lean more through corners. The steering is too light, meaning that there’s little sense of what the front wheels are doing.
There are some interior niggles that compromise the 3008, too. The centre console is laden with buttons, some of which are small and tricky to use while driving. Kneeroom for the rear seats is slightly tight meaning taller adults won’t want to sit in them for too long.
Finally, the price of the Hybrid4 is high due to the technology on board, even with this deal. Other models in the 3008 range are cheaper without much of a penalty in efficiency so you need to be sure the Hybrid4 is the right car for you.
Should I add any options?
Active trim comes with alloys, auto lights and wipers, parking sensors, cruise control, electric windows and Bluetooth on top of standard air-conditioning.
You might wish to add satellite-navigation to increase the versatility of the infotainment screen.
