New Kia Picanto vs Hyundai i10 vs Suzuki Ignis
The class-leading Hyundai i10 is under threat not only from a new Kia Picanto but also the oddball Suzuki Ignis baby SUV. We decide which is the best city car...
Infotainment systems
Hyundai i10

This is quite simply the best infotainment system in the class, and it comes as standard on Premium SE trim. You get a decent-definition 7.0in colour touchscreen, which operates menus that respond quickly and are easy to follow. It also has sat-nav with live traffic and weather data and speed camera alerts. You can even mirror your phone to the screen and use some apps from there.
Kia Picanto

One of the worst systems in the class. This small, monochrome 3.8in screen looks like it’s from a bygone era and is fiddly to use. There’s no sat-nav or DAB radio (just an AM/FM tuner), but, as with the others, you do at least get Bluetooth. You can’t upgrade it on GT-Line, either, but an almost identical unit to the one in the i10 is available on the Picanto’s pricier trims for those wanting something more advanced.
Suzuki Ignis

As with the i10, the Ignis comes with all the mod-cons: a 7.0in colour touchscreen, sat-nav, Bluetooth, a DAB radio and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone mirroring. That said, the software and hardware aren’t as good as the i10’s, with lower screen definition and less intuitive menus that are slower to respond to inputs. Plus, the tiny buttons under the screen for volume, radio tuning and the like are fiddly to use.
