    My car

I took delivery of a 1.6 TDI 105 Bluemotion SE a few weeks ago on a lease deal and am extremely pleased with it. Any fears about it being underpowered are gone and the quality feel of the car is excellent. I haven't bettered 58 mpg average on a trip yet but it has only done 150 miles so will be looking for an improvement. The stop start function is great and you can turn it off if you want. Loads of room inside and compares favourably with my V50. I have only a few issues which are with the heater control buttons and the electric wing mirror adjustment knob. The heater controls feel cheap and plasticky and you cannot read the icons on bezel which are obscured by the dial(surprising design fault). The wing mirror knob feels like it's about to fall off. This is at odds with the high quality feel of the rest of the car. The engine is perfectly smooth and cruises along at really low revs

I can only recommend this as an excellent car

    My car

Previous car was an A3 TDi 170. This car is certainly an improvement on the old golf in terms of build quality but I can't agree with those that say its better than the ageing A3.

    Things I like:-

Engine - now it's not quick until you get up and over 4k rpm - in low revs it's average. You might think this is dissapointing but when you consider its only 1400cc then you have to respect the technology and the ability of the various chargers and turbos. It's quick enough not to be marooned behind the most legal of drivers but it's not a GT - and doesn't feel like it has 158BHP unless you hammer in low gears at high revs.

Space is good - especially in the back - not cramped and nautical like the A3. Seats - excellent - comfy but supportive. Looks - it looks great in Black with the 18inch alloys.

    Things I like less:-

Gearbox - crunches every time in reverse - thought it was me but others are having same issues. Stereo - average Stupid gear change indicator...can't find any way of turning it off - so now I just go from say 3rd to 6th to annoy it. It doesn't handle like the audi and feels slightly wallowy if you dip into corners quite sharply - its not bad - but not great. MPG - 45 - you're joking. I pushed it a mile the other with engine off and still only did 35 MPG The heater/Air con - rubbish - takes around a day to cough out some warm air. Can't isolate front and rear sensors....argh!

Very decent - but certainly no cigar

    My car

Hi all at last i have my Golf after a 3 month wait but boy was it worth it,It is the 1.6 with a 7 speed dsg auto box. I have just completed a in town and dual carragaway journey and i have a heavy right foot and still got 61 mpg. I have to say it has so much room and the drive position is a1, I am 6"2 and had no problems and i also sat behind my seat and had leg room.

My previous car was a BMW 1 series and i have to sat it just cant complete against this, it is the best 19.5k i have ever spent on a car. opps forgot to add goes fast enough, and you never know it is going up or down in the gears

    My car

Had it at the dealer nothing found wrong something was done as the display was pinging at 20mph, it seems to display the temp quicker than it did before. Kept a check on my miles: 92.9.

Used the same pump 2.62 gallons

35.45mpg and the DSG box according to VW is supposed to a bit more economical than the manual, still disappointing I think.
